2013 Dog Days of Summer                         

Thursday-Sunday, July 11-14th


Take a leisurely stroll with your dog into the quaint shops of MainStreet Libertyville, or see and feel the exhilaration of the nationally recognized sport of “DockDogs-Big Air Dog Jumping”.  During Libertyville’s Dog Days of Summer, you will have a chance to experience both.  Libertyville is honored again to be the Host City for DockDogs - Road to the National Championship 2013.

MainStreet Merchant’s are dog friendly all year long, however for this weekend they are especially dog friendly hosting doggy related events. Experience Libertyville's Historical Downtown with your pup and visit MainStreet merchants and dog friendly shopping. Check out dog friendly dining in the Park or on the outdoor patios of Egg Harbor Café, Mickey Finns, or 545 North Bar & Grill.

 Cook Park will be the center of activity after the opening ceremonies Friday, July 12th with  Rock in Cook Park (music provided by Mickey Finn's).  Located in the heart of Downtown Libertyville Cook Park also has educational and family oriented activities Saturday and Sunday, July 13-14th.   The Lake County Sheriff’s K-9’s demonstrates how they capture and hold a suspect, Family/Dog Participation Games such as Musical (Chairs) Sits, Stupid Pet Tricks, Frisbee Dogs, Exercise with your pup, and  a Pet Parade.  Join us Sunday morning July 14th at 9am and walk in Save-A-Pets Petathalon followed by St. Lawrence Episcopal Church's dog blessing ceremony at 11am.  You will have fun with all the different interactive activities going on all day long with your Best Friend.

X-Treme Dog Park is located in the PNC Banks rear parking lot which backs up to the Civic Center parking lot.  During the exciting 4 day highlight event, you will see Speed…Explosion…Big Air and SPLASH, as dogs run down a 40’ dock and jump into a 27,000 gallon 20x40 foot pool.  The event features 150 nationally ranked top jumping DockDogs competing for prizes and rankings in the “Big Air Long Jump, the Xtreme Vertical High Jump, and the Speed Retrieve timed Jump and Swim”.  The competition is simple and exciting, the dog with the longest or highest leap off the end of the dock… The Big Air Dog, Wins!

Local Competition: Your dog can be one of 15 local dogs that run    down  a 40’ dock and jump into a 27,000 gallon 20' x 40' pool.
During Libertyvlle's Dog Days of Summer, 15 local dogs will compete
in a  competition for prizes and the title of “Libertyville's Big Air Dog”.
The competition is simple and exciting, the dog with the longest leap
off the dock...the BIG AIR DOG - WINS!

There is NO COST to enter, simply register your dog at Pampered Pup’z website for 1 of 3 ways to win.  A total of 15 dogs will win a chance to compete for the title of “Libertyville’s Big Air Dog”.  Local Competition will be held Friday, July 12th at 6 PM. Click here for Rules & Registration

LOCAL DOGS FUN JUMP
Local  Fun Jump/Tryout session held Thursday, July 11th  2:00-6:00 pm.  Cost is $15 with instructors included and open to all local registered dogs.  Registration opens at noon. On site registration only.
